ESS: measurement before control

Why telemetry quality, physical boundaries and evidence matter in a custom energy platform.

The problem

An energy diagram can make a system look obvious. Real measurements come from different boundaries, at different times, with different failure modes.

The architecture

The documented installation combines Victron inverter equipment, managed battery storage, solar equipment and distinct meters. Private software collects telemetry, records history and supports policy and constrained execution.

The useful distinction

A requested action is intent. A successful response is acknowledgement. A register readback is a reported value. Physical effect needs an appropriate independent observation. Treating those as interchangeable creates false confidence precisely where a system should be conservative.

Engineering work

Documented work includes source qualification, freshness semantics, forecast integration and measured-current regulation. Offline qualification is useful evidence about software; it is not physical commissioning.

Publication boundary

This website serves a static conceptual description. It does not query or control the live energy platform. Household traces, live usage and detailed operational configuration remain private.
